Dancing with the Stars Arizona 2009 was definitely Swinging into Action- 1940’s Style at the elegant Arizona Biltmore Resort on March 6. Co-Chairs Libby Cohen, Jan Clayton and Patsy Livi created an evening reflecting USO patriotism. The energizing 1940s big band and swing jazz sounds of the Two O’clock Jump Swing Band had everyone on the dance floor.
The sensational ballroom dance competition featured Arizona Celebrity Star Dancers and Celebrity Star Couples partnered with professional instructors from Fred Astaire Arizona, interactive guest voting and competition ballroom dance adjudicators.
The event included exhibition performances by internationally renowned ballroom dance champions and 2007 American Smooth World Showdance Champions, Eulia Baranovsky and Steven Dougherty, AKF Legacy Champions Linda Pope and Jan Clayton and a special performance by Dancing with the Stars Arizona Chair Emeritus, Jack Clifford.

Chris Jones and his team from Schmidt Westerguard and Co. tabulated the Judges’ scores and audience votes to determine the 2009 Champions.
